10,000 Steps A Day
Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 1:37PM Decatur General wants you to know walking is good for you! Simply increasing the amount of steps we take each day can have a positive affect on our overall health. Not only will we look and feel more fit, we can better manage the risks for diabetes, heart disease, stroke and other related health conditions! .
That is why Decatur General is taking steps to reach launch a new health initiative: 10,000 Steps a Day
For the next 6 months, WE ARE encouraging everyone to get in 10,000 steps per day and providing tips on how to do this. It's as easy as:
-parking a little further away from the Mall or grocery store -
-taking mini walk breaks inside your home or office -
-taking the stairs.
You can hear these tips on 100.3 FM - The River. And we have a little jingle that will help put a spring in your step to get you started and keep you going!
Attached are samples of the first few tips that will be running - we will change them out routinely. There will also be two walking events with this campaign. The first one will be August 7th - more information to come. So, get your walking shoes on and Get Up and Walk with us!!!
