Selenia™ digital mammography incorporates revolutionary image technology that provides incredible sharp breast images on the technologist's computer screen in a matter of seconds. Because there is no film to develop, the wait time for the patient can be greatly reduced. In addition, the images are reviewed under special high resolution monitors which allow the physician to manipulate the image for change in contrasts, close-ups, brightness and zooms. This advancement allows for greater image clarity making it easier to detect subtle changes in the breast and reduce the need for retakes due to over or under exposure. Digital mammograms are also easily stored and transferred electronically - eliminating the dependency on one set of original film.
