DECATUR GENERAL FOUNDATION
The Decatur General Foundation is a 501(c)3 community-based organization providing financial support to the programs and services of Decatur General Hospital. The only not-for-profit hospital in our area, Decatur General provides care to all who need it, regardless of ability to pay, yet receives no tax support from the city or county. Thus, gifts made to the Foundation enable Decatur General to continue its dedication to excellence in healthcare for our community. In addition to patient support and care, the hospital is committed to the advancement of health awareness education and the expansion of healthcare facilities for our community. Since the establishment of the Foundation in 1984, contributions have totaled more than $13 million (more than $1 million from employees), which helped fund many important programs and services. This ongoing support demonstrates the community's trust in the hospital and its recognition of the need for the finest facilities, staff and services.

The Foundation Board unanimously voted to seek $3 million in charitable contributions for the new equipment needs of the Center. To date, more than $2 million has been raised toward this campaign. More than 500 Decatur General employees pledged $485,000 toward this campaign. This overwhelming support from our employees once again demonstrates the dedication, loyalty and commitment of our staff. This recent campaign brings total giving from our employees to the Foundation to more than $1 million.
